First Impressions for Men
The First Impressions for Men program provides interview clothing to men in the Lehigh Valley attempting to re-enter the job market after a gap in employment due to incarceration, drug and alcohol abuse, or a lack of financial means to prepare for an interview. There are two distinct groups that participate in the FIFM program. The first is comprised of individuals that are currently incarcerated in Lehigh County prison but expect to be released in a few months. The second includes men who have been referred by non-profit organizations after taking part in drug or alcohol rehabilitation programs or that lack the financial means to purchase acceptable clothing for a job interview. Program participants meet with a FIFM representative who fits them with clothes for a job interview, but does not help them find potential jobs or coach them for potential interviews. This study will evaluate the success of this program from the perspective of program participants and potential employers.
